Invisalign® uses a custom-made series of aligners created especially for each patient. The aligners are made of smooth, comfortable clear plastic that is worn over the teeth. Wearing the aligners gradually and gently guide the teeth into the proper alignment without the use of metal brackets and wires. Each patient has a unique set of criteria, which Invisalign® uses when designing the aligners. Data from an oral exam, photographs, impressions and xrays are sufficient for Invisalign® to design the aligners and to determine how many aligners the patient will need.
